PRAGUE MOVEMENT SUMMIT FASCIA IN MOVEMENT AND SPORT
Knowledge and inspiration from fascia research and barefoot science and walking
4 virtual workshops
9:30- 11:00 Dr. Robert Schleip
Fascial components in human locomotion
Human bipedal posture and locomotion involve specific myofascial specifications, some of which have only recently been more fully understood. Among them are the spring-loading capacity of the iliotibial tract, the unique construction of the plantar fascia, the sliding heel pad, and the long and elastic Achilles tendon. Not to mention the very human expression of our buttocks, fascial pelvic floor, the lumbodorsal fascia and the nuchal ligament.
How differently are these collagenous structures loaded during walking as opposed to jumping or to running? And what happens when a whole society of human bipeds spends their lives without sufficient loading of these important connections? And finally: What are the best therapeutic short cuts for re-inventing species-appropriate mechanical stimulation of the wonderful body we inherited from our Homo sapiens ancestors approximately 300 000 years ago?
11:30 - 13:00 James Earls
Born to Walk
Using evolutionary and comparative anatomy we will explain our family tree to see how our anatomy has adapted for movement efficiency. We will also define the anatomical changes that allow us to move with reduced calorie use.
The principles explored in the webinar relate to how we can help our clients regain movement efficiency. Having a deeper understanding of functional anatomy improves the therapist’s and trainer’s appreciation of how the body really works as an interrelated tensegrity system.
The webinar will lay out recent thinking on fossil discoveries, how they relate to modern anatomy, and how each element fits together to help us take advantage of a range of myofasical dynamics, giving you new ideas on how the body really works.
14:00 - 15:30 Wojteich Cackowski
Zoga Movement Method and its ability to influence Gait
Purpose of a workshop is to bring swerves of participants of a possibilities to influence a structural organisation of a human body in relation to gravity through movement especially focused on Gait. Movement and manual interventions that are used to achieve more balanced structural organisation are focused on sheering neighbouring structures in relation to each other to bring more glide and fluidity of movement and defined anatomical structures in relation to each other in order to bring better relationship in gravity steer body toward neutral.
16:00 - 17:30 Dr. Emily Splichal
Feet , Function, Fascial Lines
The dynamic control of functional movement is deeply integrated in our foundational control of the ground and gravity.
Join Human Movement Specialist & Podiatrist Dr. Emily Splichal as she explores how our feet, fascia and functional movement are even more integrated than we currently realize.
From fascial tensioning to fascial elasticity, our fascia plays a role in how our feet detect, store and transfer forces during dynamic movement. This session will prepare you how to train your clients for more efficient and precise movement.
